Bring Gratitude into Your Daily Life

This week, we want to introduce a concept we call:

Intentional Gratitude!

I know…I know. It sounds so cliche… but my grandmother used to say, “Robby, be sure and count your blessings.”

Turns out, sometimes what ends up as a cliche or loving ‘Grandparently’ advice

turns out to be

A PRACTICAL AND POWERFUL LIFE TOOL!

Thanks, Grandma!

Studies point to real benefits to your psychological health, including:

  • Enhanced mood, better awareness, and increased self-satisfaction.

  • Physical benefits include better sleep, optimal blood pressure, and improved immune system.

  • Social benefits include stronger empathy, better communication, and stronger interpersonal skills.  Want to appear more confident without being misperceived as arrogant?  Be Grateful!

So, what do we mean by Intentional Gratitude?

Often, our experience of gratitude is simply a reaction to something that has happened to us. We don’t intend to have it; it just shows up.

When it does…

It Feels So Good!

One reason it feels so good is that Gratitude is one of the highest states of consciousness, right up there with Love, Compassion, and Joy!

Intentional Gratitude is the act of becoming Grateful

On Purpose, By Choice, Every Day!

THIS WEEK’S CHALLENGE

Write down five things you’re genuinely grateful for in your journal, and read the list aloud each day.  They don’t have to be big things.  It’s not about the thing; it’s about the Gratitude!  Feel free to rotate if you want; just be sure it’s at least five things per day, every day.

Intentional Gratitude has amazing healing properties no matter where the gratitude is aimed!  If it’s aimed at a person, feel free to tell them!

FOR EXTRA CREDIT

Write down five more things you really want in your life and be Intentionally Grateful for them IN ADVANCE!   I know it sounds crazy, but…

What could it hurt?

Good luck with the challenge!
